Roses will Bloom again

This is just one of the rose's that I transferred from R's Dad's house in April after he passed away. Both of R's parents loved roses. In the front yard they had several along the walk way leading to the front door. As we moved everything from the house, I just couldn't leave the roses. So I transplanted five of the plants to my yard. Since it is far passed transplanting time and already very hot here, I wasn't sure any of them would survive. I made sure I kept water on them and watched as they all began to sprout new growth. Then much to my surprise I noticed two tiny little buds on the smallest bush. As two tiny yellow roses appear I am reminded of the song "Roses will bloom again". Thankfully all the plants survived the move and we will be able to enjoy watching them bloom again.

Wildflower

I'm not sure what kind of flower this is, but I've seen it everywhere. Chances are you've seen it too!

Zoo Trip

We took a quick trip to the Zoo today in honor of C's 5th Birthday. It's what he wanted to do to celebrate his day. Here are some of my favorite pictures of the day.

This is by far my favorite picture of the day. I was able to get this shot just after a quick rain shower. I love the reflection of the sky in the pond.

This Jaguar was only about 3 feet from me while I was trying to take a picture. His back was toward me and I mentioned to A, I wish he would turn his head this way. She began to make a noise and he turn around immediately. I had no idea she had the talent of talking to the animals.

I would like to have a fountain just like this in my backyard. I think it is beautiful and so peaceful to sit and listen to. It is on my list of future things to purchase.

This is a peacock running from me. I chased him for a while trying to get him to show his feathers, but he apparently didn't get the memo. I gave up for fear that I might be ask to leave before I was ready to go.
