Autumn Foliage

We took a little trip this week and hoped we would be able to see the leaves changing colors in the mountains. It was a little too early for the full effect, but we were able to get hint of them. This is one of my favorites taken in Rock City on Lookout Mountain.

In this picture we are playing with the remote on my camera. I love this gadget, it was a gift from MS this past Christmas. In most of these shots you can see my arm sticking out, but this one turned out pretty good. Sad to say however, after taking these pictures and having so much fun, I can't find it anywhere, it's driving me crazy!

Two years later!

A view of the pier driving along Hwy 90 in Gulfport, Mississippi. I was amazed at how much devastation still remains after Huricane Katrina came through 2 years ago. As we drove along the Hwy there were signs along the beach that said "Beach Closed" and only a few tourist. R was there right after the Hurricane and he was telling me how it looked then. Most of the debris has been cleared and a few houses are being rebuilt. It was eery to still see vacant lots with only slabs or steps. The people of Mississippi are resilient in this small town as they continue to wait and rebuild.
