As for Disney, this week is NOT the time of year to go. Bussiest week of the year is the week between Christmas and New Years. The Magic Kingdom fills to capacity before noon and no non-resort guests are allowed in after that. Wall to wall people on Main Street, especially for parades and fireworks, long lines for rides and shows... bad juju. Early December up until a few days before Christmas is the time to go. The Christmas decorations are up by mid or late November - go before Christmas - all of the fun and decorations, not nearly as much crowds. :)
